It’s not a popular opinion (I still don’t get it tbh) but getting Thomas Vanek really solidified our offense and he was a big reason for our success during his brief stint with us.

Michou did him dirty by reducing his usage against the Rangers in the ECF. He should have been working with him instead of punishing him.

vanek was awesome in the regular season. So brainy.

Didn’t translate in the playoffs though but he really gave us that winger depth.

Bad management for so long.

MB came at the absolute worst time. That club should’ve won a cup. Insane to me that we didn’t fill in the lineup. The total flipside to what’s happening in Edmonton now.

Price was an auto win in the playoffs when we’d score three. But we couldn’t even do that.

Another classic disconnect. MB gets Vanek and MT puts him on the third line. Same thing with Briere… and we passed on Jagr for him.

The Pacioretty-DD-Vanek was awesome during the season.

Still think we should have trade the 1st round pick in 2012 for Jordan Staal. He would have help us a lot in the playoff during 2014-2016
