These threads seem sorta useless given the strong bias toward prospects and overvaluing specific prospects pre-draft leading to a lot of "no thanks we need X"

In reality, teams have their own ways of determining value of prospects and picks. You may have the 9th overall pick but like 3 guys and feel confident you can grab at least one of them at 14th overall in which case there is added value in getting an extra pick to trade back and walk away with one of your top 3 and essentially an additional late first round pick at 33.
Agree with the highlighted. Grier in this case will have to hope that NJ or BUF have that type of board. He obviously has the draft capital.
